Hot Tea and Happiness.

When I saw this little graphic is made me happy. Who doesn’t love catching up over a cup of hot tea?

Happiness is…

a quiet night of cuddling up on the couch and watching TV.

knowing that the political commercials, ads, mailers, etc. will cease to exist after yesterday.

a sweet little “meow” when I wake up in the morning and someone’s waiting on me to open my eyes. {ok, sometimes this airs on the side of annoyance. sometimes.}

a phone call with my brother that begins with “Talk to me, goose…” and ends with “…get green label. It’s not a cheap crap kind of weekend.” We’re special.

knowing that the baby shower honoree’s are actually excited about the shower we are throwing this weekend. Can’t. Wait.

a new workout inspiration. Thank you Missy and Nikki. I began Couch to 5k {again} tonight.

a new episode of Nashville tonight. Obsessed. But, again, we all know this.

walking into my apartment and smelling dinner that I put in the crockpot this morning. Chicken tacos get in my belly!

Starbursts. Thank you, Amy, for bringing them into work. I know they were for the bucket of candy for the kids… but… I just can’t help myself.

knowing that this weekend I’ll get to see so many old friends and family.

What happiness is not…

the sole of my riding boots breaking today. I almost cried. Super glue?

What is happiness to you??

Happy hump day, kittens!

About the leopard print…

Naturally, I watched the CMA’s last night {if you didn’t know that I LOVE country music… you do now} and to my Twitter followers, I apologize… I just had to live tweet my thoughts on the event. It happens… and my friend Ellie, she wrote her commentary out in a blog post… CRACKED. ME. UP. {Go read it now… then come back…}

Now, a few of my thoughts… Where was Kip Moore?? I need Carrie Underwood’s leg workout. NEED. Jason Aldean will always, always, always be my favorite. Country musicians are just sexy. Period. All of them… Luke, Jake, Jason, Erin, Jana, Carrie… seriously, share that with us, please. The Willie Nelson tribute was fantastic. Tim and Kenny are getting old. Was Faith wearing braces? The Zac Brown Band is amazing.  And sorry, Taylor… I still am not a huge fan.

And… I need to go to the CMA’s next year.

On another note –

I’m rocking some leopard leggings today {I got them a couple of months ago but hadn’t decided on them yet…}

What do you think? Yay? Nay? I love leopard. as much as I love country music – and that’s a lot.

What are you up to this weekend?

Happy Friday, little Cheetahs!

I hope… {Happy Halloween}

that you haven’t stopped caring about this little ole blog.

that you aren’t annoyed too much that I go through periodic moments of MIA{ness}.

that you take a moment to be grateful for what you have in the wake of this crazy hurricane that blasted the East Coast.

that you got to enjoy a warm cup of coffee or tea or hot chocolate this morning. {I’m still working on mine… and it’s no longer warm. #fail}

that it warms up a little bit around here… I was enjoying fall… and I’m not quite ready for winter yet.

that Harper comes soon {but not sooner than she should!} because I can’t wait to meet her.

that the reading glasses I recently purchased help – and that I don’t actually need glasses.

that Nashville doesn’t get cancelled – I’m in love with that show… anyone else???

that I actually get back into the swing of things. Like now. I missed blogging.

that y’all have a fantastic Halloween… stay safe, stay warm, and eat lots of candy! {Oh! And watch some scary movies… }

Halloween ’12 – my best costume. Vampire.

Halloween ’10 – please note how thrilled he looks. #crazycatlady

Halloween ’09 – I was a cowgirl. So not original.

Happy Halloween, pumpkins!

I believe in…

Linking up with Erin, duh.

I believe in following a strict schedule of watching Friends re-runs. 11pm. Every night. Nick@Nite.

I believe in fresh, country air. It’s good for the soul.

I believe in the want to sleep in… but I never sleep in past 830.

I believe in working out. It makes a person a little happier… cause lets face it, endorphin’s make people happy, and happy people just don’t kill their husbands. 😉

I believe in being silly. As often as possible.

I believe in tea, hazelnut coffee, and whiskey.

I believe in the importance of family. And friends that are like family. Where would we be without them?

I believe in “Thank You’s” “Good Morning’s” and “I’m Sorry’s” – it’s the little things that we need to hear the most.

I believe in taking the time to give yourself a proper manicure. Weekly.

I believe in reading. Books are the best therapy.

I believe in singing at the top of my lungs. Whenever I can.

I believe in leopard print, cowboy boots, and big, messy hair.

I believe in forgiveness.

I believe in letting people choose their own paths.

I believe in kitty cuddle time.

I believe in screwing up – most of the time, that’s the only way any of us will ever learn.

I believe in sleep… which is where I’m off to. {Actually, I’m off to watch Friends. Don’t act like you aren’t watching it too… Ohh Janice and Chandler. *sniff*}

Are you linking up with Erin at Living in Yellow?? You should. It’s a pretty kickassbum  link up!

Happy Thursday, lovelies.

p.s. I know I’ve sucked at blogging lately. I apologize. But sometimes, it happens. Don’t hate, yo?!

Happy Hour. {I apologize…}

I’m not very good at sticking to a blogging schedule – perhaps that’s my failure in the blogging world… I set out to write about this one day, that the next… but then sometimes life happens or I find a really good book and sometimes, I just don’t feel like being on the computer more than I have to…

And before I know it, I’ve failed to write about what I planned to…

Eh, ya win some… ya lose some, right?

{But MAJOR kudos to Ellie who is actually good at sticking to our schedule… ;)}

Things that make my heart go boom, boom {so maybe… I was just listening to Luke Bryan}…

1. Going off the grid. This weekend I stayed off social media. And honestly, it felt pretty damn good. No, I won’t make this a habit… I enjoy it far too much – however, a little reprieve from it… was refreshing. Not being concerned about what the rest of the world was doing… was nice. I think I little “me” time is very needed sometimes.

2. Staying up until the wee hours reading a good book. Anyone that knows me knows I have a bit of an A.D.D problem with books. I LOVE to read… but finding a really, really good book is very hard for me. I’ve started several that never get finished, if it doesn’t grab me from page one… by page twenty I’ve started daydreaming which leaves me confused and wondering what the heck just happened. Currently, I have a stack of five books that I just couldn’t get into enough to make me power through them. Five… that’s a little ridiculous, huh? However, enter Nicholas Sparks – that man can write a book and I’ll stay up until the next morning to finish it. It never fails. Last week I started and finished The Best of Me in 2 days. It was an amazing story of unrequited love… but damn was it heart wrenching. If you love a good love story… read it. But be prepared to bawl your little eyes out.

3. Catching up with old friends.

4. Kickass comments. I posted the beginning of a love story over on Holly’s blog last week {if you haven’t read it… maybe you should!}… and the comments were soo sweet and encouraging. I love writing and telling a good story and y’all’s sweet words were awesome!!

5. Polyvore. I’ve been creating fall style boards for work all week – well, last week… and I’ve been using Polyvore. It’s a really cool site once you figure out how to use it best. It’s also slightly aggravating… but I love putting looks together, so… I’m not complaining. {too much, anyways;)}

So there we have it, kittens. Things that are making me happy currently.

Did you link up? You should. I apologize again for sucking. It’ll probably happen again next week… so don’t expect too much out of me. 😉

Happy Monday Tuesday, loves!

Hey, it’s ok…and a first date.

Its Ok ThursdaysIt’s ok…

to stay up until the wee hours of the night trying to finish the book you JUST started.

to request that Nicolas Sparks release books much faster than he does. C’mon what’s the hold up?! 😉

to have never eaten a pickle, tuna, or put mayo on a sandwich.

to kind of enjoy waking up at 7am. The world is much more peaceful then. {Shhhh… don’t tell anyone.}

to be wearing boots today… and it’s supposed to be close to 90 degrees.

to be dreaming of a serious blog makeover.

to be super excited to be guest posting over at Running in Stilettos today! Holly is such a doll and I love sponsoring her!! I wrote a special Blonde Life installment… so if you’re interested in reading about one of my best first dates, ever… hop on over there!!

p.s. I’m hosting a super fun giveaway over at Holly’s blog as well!!!! Make sure you go over and enter!!! {hint: it’s involving two of my favorite things – Starbucks and Nail Polish!}

It’s Thursday kiddos – means one more day until the weekend! Make it a good one!!

You missed your train…

I think that’s the funny thing about life… you spend all this time wishing and hoping for this, that, or the other – thinking that eventually it’ll work out. Whatever it may be; a job, a relationship, a friendship, a new pair of shoes… anything. And then suddenly it passes you by… I don’t entirely believe in the “What’s meant to be will always find it’s way…” notion, however, I do believe that we are given, OR aren’t given certain things for a reason. And I think most of the time it’s just a reminder to stop always looking ahead {yes, we all want a full, amazing future} but to live in the now… enjoy the your time at the train station. Never know what may come of it…

We’ve made it to Wednesday – and quite quickly I might add. Make it a good one, kids.

Happy Hour. {A day late…}

Y’all, I kinda suck this week – already. How does that happen?! I apologize for the lateness of this post.  I was home this weekend and had some wonky wireless and cell service so my little computer, she took a weekend off too. And yesterday – I was tired. End of story. I was snuggled up in bed by 10 {way early for this girl!}

Anywho, moving on…

We are just going to pretend it’s Monday for Happy Hour’s sake – ok? ok!

1. Family time. I spent the weekend at home and, as usual, it was great. But I got to spend a lot of time with a member of the family that I haven’t gotten to in a really long time. And by a lot of time, I mean pretty much the entire weekend aside from while we were sleeping. Which she and I needed – Hollie {my bro’s gf} and I have a lot of fun together – but it had been awhile since we have gotten the chance to just hang out. This weekend was good for that, she learned how weird I am {I don’t like pickles, mayo, or tuna – so, I don’t like foods that smell weird}, I learned how weird she is {she doesn’t want someone to buy things for her – CRAZY girl! ;)}, and we had a blast. And it was even better because we threw Mom in the mix. There’s nothing better than family time. Nothing.

2.Cool mornings. This morning I was armed with a scarf and a chai tea. Those are my favorite kind of mornings. {Aside from the ones where I sleep in…}

3. AT&T. Guys, I’ve had the worst luck with my phone in the last month. I’m not one to usually complain about my phone – as long as I can text, call, and do the essentials I don’t care. And I have a good phone – pretty fancy schmancy. But about two weeks ago it went all weird on me and kept restarting, all. day. long. and then this weekend I lost all signal. I could only use my phone if there was wireless. Which posed a bit of a problem for me. Both times I chatted with someone on the ATT website and they tried all they could, I went to the store, and again, they tried all they could – then I had to go to the device service center and both times – new phones. It’s annoying and frustrating for me. But seriously, ATT rocked. I couldn’t be happier with their customer service. That makes things like that so much easier.

4. Homemade Ice Cream. Do I need to explain this?

5. Jana Kramer. I first heard her when she was on One Tree Hill. But she has recently released her first country album. I love it. I actually think I’ve mentioned this before… but that just goes to show you how much I love her. You should check her out if you haven’t yet…

What’s making YOU happy right now? Link up with Ellie and I – and hopefully next week I’ll be better at getting this post out on Monday. {fingers crossed}

Happy Tuesday, loves!

Happy Hour. {Clean. Phone calls. Sonny.}

I kicked Sunday’s bum today. I woke up at 7:30 {!!!!!!!} – seriously, who does that? An idiot . An over achiever, that’s who! And started cleaning out my closet, putting clothes away, organizing my room, then did a huge haul in the basement {it needed it like you wouldn’t imagine!} and finally cleaned the entire apartment. Feels soo good to have everything all spic and span. And, I grocery shopped. My Sunday was full of #winning.

Now I get to sit down and work on my blog posts for the week, read my Marie Claire {with Miley on the cover! Eeek!} and relax with a glass of wine.

So, it’s the third week of Happy Hour – are you linking up with Ellie and I?? We hope so! I mean c’mon, how nice is it to start the week thinking about the things that are making you happy right now?!

1. Re-sale shops. I went through my closet, again today. The little snippet of fall weather yesterday got me all kinds of excited about fall clothes. {Not that I needed help there!} But, I figured there was no time like the present to go through everything. I have so many jackets, sweaters, and jeans I never, ever wear. I piled the good stuff into a laundry basket and took them down to Rag-o-Rama. {And then two trash bags of sweats, tshirts, and shorts went to Goodwill.} They took a decent amount and I got a lil $$ for them. It’s really a win-win. Some of the items I had only worn once or maybe never, so it doesn’t feel like such a waste when I can take them to a re-sale shop.

2. Getting dressed up. Last night was the Columbus Arts Ball – an event benefiting the Autism Society of Central Ohio; Amy had donated a puzzle piece and item for the silent auction. In turn, we got tickets to attend the event. It felt like prom all over again. Only better, much, much better. {Prom was too drama filled, right?!} Finding the perfect dress, doing my hair all pretty, wearing more makeup than normal, loud music, dancing, and lots of picture taking… It was a lot of fun. What girl doesn’t enjoy getting all dolled up for an evening?!

3. Phone calls. I talk to my Mom everyday on the phone. You’d be surprised how much we have to talk about even though we talked just 24 hours before. And what’s even better is when a little, blonde munchkin answers the phone with “I love you soooo much! What are you doing, Jackie?!” I’m kind of in love with that little one – she can seriously bring a smile to anyone’s face.

4. Old episodes of General Hospital being on Soapnet right now. I have watched this show since I was in the womb. However, I haven’t stayed up to date with it in the last few years. I’ll watch it here and there depending on what the cover of Soap Magazine entices of me with {more often than not it’s something to do with Sonny} – but usually lose interest shortly. But tonight, it’s a weeks worth of “Gold Medal Moments” – which means, reruns, from years ago… I know what I’m doing tonight!

5. Starting the week off with – Clean apartments. Grocery shopping done. Organized closets. Need I say more?

Ok – get movin’  – start making your happiness list and checking it twice… then link up! It’s easy – click on that little blue froggy guy at the bottom of this post and BOOM! all done!

Happy Monday, my little soap opera fans!!!

Nannies, Nachos, and Mother Nature.

Its Ok Thursdays
It’s ok…

to watch Beverly Hills Nannies and thank your lucky stars that your nannying job was NOTHING like that!! {Thank you, Amy!!}

to skip the gym in loo of budlight, chicken nachos, and girl time.

to be scheming how I’m going to get backstage at the Kip Moore concert tomorrow and charm him into falling in love with me.

to have been mentally planning my wardrobe choices for this concert for the past 24 hours.

to really, really, really love Christmas but not really understand the whole Christmas in July extravaganza.

to be praying, crossing my fingers, and toes, and your fingers and toes that the storms that are supposed to hit today – don’t. No more severe weather, okay, Mother Nature?! We get the point.

to be thinking about attempting the 17 Day Diet…

to have a pretty quiet weekend planned and being extremely happy about it.

to be wrapping this post up so I can veg out and read for a bit.

And please be jealous of me and my Kip Moore/ Billy Currington concert going tonight!!! I. Can’t. Wait. Hopefully I’ll manage to take some pictures this time!

Happy Thursday, chicadees…

Hope y’all link up with Neely and Amber for It’s Ok Thursday – it’s a big one this week – it’s their year anniversary of these link ups! So… go link up!
