Happy Hour. {A day late…}

Y’all, I kinda suck this week – already. How does that happen?! I apologize for the lateness of this post.  I was home this weekend and had some wonky wireless and cell service so my little computer, she took a weekend off too. And yesterday – I was tired. End of story. I was snuggled up in bed by 10 {way early for this girl!}

Anywho, moving on…

We are just going to pretend it’s Monday for Happy Hour’s sake – ok? ok!

1. Family time. I spent the weekend at home and, as usual, it was great. But I got to spend a lot of time with a member of the family that I haven’t gotten to in a really long time. And by a lot of time, I mean pretty much the entire weekend aside from while we were sleeping. Which she and I needed – Hollie {my bro’s gf} and I have a lot of fun together – but it had been awhile since we have gotten the chance to just hang out. This weekend was good for that, she learned how weird I am {I don’t like pickles, mayo, or tuna – so, I don’t like foods that smell weird}, I learned how weird she is {she doesn’t want someone to buy things for her – CRAZY girl! ;) }, and we had a blast. And it was even better because we threw Mom in the mix. There’s nothing better than family time. Nothing.

2.Cool mornings. This morning I was armed with a scarf and a chai tea. Those are my favorite kind of mornings. {Aside from the ones where I sleep in…}

3. AT&T. Guys, I’ve had the worst luck with my phone in the last month. I’m not one to usually complain about my phone – as long as I can text, call, and do the essentials I don’t care. And I have a good phone – pretty fancy schmancy. But about two weeks ago it went all weird on me and kept restarting, all. day. long. and then this weekend I lost all signal. I could only use my phone if there was wireless. Which posed a bit of a problem for me. Both times I chatted with someone on the ATT website and they tried all they could, I went to the store, and again, they tried all they could – then I had to go to the device service center and both times – new phones. It’s annoying and frustrating for me. But seriously, ATT rocked. I couldn’t be happier with their customer service. That makes things like that so much easier.

4. Homemade Ice Cream. Do I need to explain this?

5. Jana Kramer. I first heard her when she was on One Tree Hill. But she has recently released her first country album. I love it. I actually think I’ve mentioned this before… but that just goes to show you how much I love her. You should check her out if you haven’t yet…

What’s making YOU happy right now? Link up with Ellie and I – and hopefully next week I’ll be better at getting this post out on Monday. {fingers crossed}

Happy Tuesday, loves!

Nannies, Nachos, and Mother Nature.

Its Ok Thursdays
It’s ok…

to watch Beverly Hills Nannies and thank your lucky stars that your nannying job was NOTHING like that!! {Thank you, Amy!!}

to skip the gym in loo of budlight, chicken nachos, and girl time.

to be scheming how I’m going to get backstage at the Kip Moore concert tomorrow and charm him into falling in love with me.

to have been mentally planning my wardrobe choices for this concert for the past 24 hours.

to really, really, really love Christmas but not really understand the whole Christmas in July extravaganza.

to be praying, crossing my fingers, and toes, and your fingers and toes that the storms that are supposed to hit today – don’t. No more severe weather, okay, Mother Nature?! We get the point.

to be thinking about attempting the 17 Day Diet…

to have a pretty quiet weekend planned and being extremely happy about it.

to be wrapping this post up so I can veg out and read for a bit.

And please be jealous of me and my Kip Moore/ Billy Currington concert going tonight!!! I. Can’t. Wait. Hopefully I’ll manage to take some pictures this time!

Happy Thursday, chicadees…

Hope y’all link up with Neely and Amber for It’s Ok Thursday – it’s a big one this week – it’s their year anniversary of these link ups! So… go link up!

I’m blank because…

because I very rarely straighten my hair. {But thanks to Hollie – that may change.}

because I really don’t like coffee. It HAS to have far too much creamer in it.

because I don’t like maple syrup.

because I am very picky when it comes to my bottled water.

because I rarely ever finish a cup of coffee or tea.

because I collect extra large mugs – mainly with Disney characters on them.

because I check my cats teeth, daily.

because I don’t really like to cuddle when I sleep.

because I sleep with my feet outside the covers.

because I often read magazines from back to front.

because I sleep with a fan on. Year around.

because I don’t really like going to the movies.

because I’m watching the 1000th episode of WWE right now with Dad.

because I hold my breath in public restrooms.

because velvet makes me cringe. I can’t touch it. At all.

because I could eat cereal for every meal.

This is another one of those posts that have been floating around the bloggy world – and I like them. {Sorry if you don’t!} I think it’s fun to learn about each other – the silly, random, serious, or weird things. This lovely posted it first… then this pretty lady posted it last week… and inspired me.

Do you ever have that moment where you think “Wow, I’m a weirdo?” You do?! Great! ;) What are some things that you do that are weird?

Happy hump day, lovers!! It’s amazing how quickly Wednesday comes when you had Monday off – funny how that works. ;)

And then I walked into Target.

I finally settled on a planner – I had my eyes on this adorable one at Barnes & Noble, it had cute little elephants all over it. Totally me. {Because I love elephants, of course. Didn’t know that?! Welp, now ya do!}  But then while I was doing some random shopping at Heaven Target I found this pink planner with lots of lines to write all the things I want to keep track of and… it’s pink. And… it was right next to the new Sharpie pens *gasp* they don’t bleed thru the paper! I may or may not be on cloud 9 with these pens. A Sharpie that doesn’t bleed… dreams are coming true, people.

C’mon I’m not the only one in love with Sharpie’s, right?

Anyways – so planner, check! And stationary – I REALLY don’t need any. I have about a billion different notecard sets… I just need some way of organizing them. {And then hope I actually use them…} I’m still on the lookout for a new bag… I switched everything over to this green and tan bag for the time being {I’m convinced I won’t like it – but, I’m giving it a go… it is cute, just not entirely functional.} And I do actually need new running shoes. My current ones are hurting my tootsies when I workout… I think that’s reason enough to be on the lookout, no?

It’s a much prettier green in real life – not so much Kermit the Frog green.

Y’all, I really love this “it’s okay” link up… I like that page in Glamour magazine – always makes me feel better about life… So join me and link up with Neely and Amber!

Its Ok ThursdaysIt’s Ok…

to be reading more than one book at a time. I’m reading two… and looking for a third… I need a reallyyyyy good one.

to envy the girl at the gym with the super long ponytail – mine will get there one day.

to wear faux glasses – but only when it’s raining out. It’s hard to wear sunglasses with faux glasses…

to be craving fall fashion. Layers, boots, more options…

that on the same token, I’m never, ever gonna be ready for winter.

to wish you could fix everything for everyone. But realize that you can’t… and that all you can do is just hope for the best.

to have just worked your bum off at the gym and then come home and devour a cupcake – it evens out, right? p.s. it was a damn good cupcake at that – I don’t know who made them but holy deliciousness.

to be excited to get home this weekend and see everyone.

Happy Thursday, lovers!

If you really knew…

I’ve seen this post floating around on the blogosphere – and I thought it was kinda fun. I first saw Stephanie over at Beautiful Mess post it {and her hubs – which was very cute!} and then  Neely over at A Complete Waste of Makeup and my sweet friend Holly over at Running in Stilettos – and so, like all chatty bloggers do – I’m jumping on the bandwagon with this one. Humor me while I tell you far more than you ever care to know about yours truly…

My ridiculous friends. #love

If you really knew me you’d know that…

My family and friends are my soul.

I’m not a morning person.

I love cats. Like seriously love them. I can fall in love with a cat in 5 seconds. My mom says I need therapy….

I don’t like condiments, whipped cream, or ice cream with my cake.

I’m learning photography and I really enjoy it.

I drink water. All the time. If I’m not drinking that I have a tea from Starbucks – it’s an addiction.

My mom and I talk on the phone every single day.

I love cowboy boots – in any way, shape, or form. I want to wear them everyday. With everything. {Hence the name of my blog.;)}

I really, really, really love the beach. And the water. It’s my happy place.

I hate making the bed. It’s one of my least favorite chores in the whole wide world.

I need quiet time. If I don’t have it – I become a brat.

I burp, a lot – I know, it’s not lady like – and believe me, Dad tried to train me better – but he gave up. I accepted it, as should you. ;)

My nails are always painted. I own any color imaginable but always, always need more nail polish. #obsessed

I have a green and pink throw that I’ve had since I was in 3rd grade. It goes on every vacation, every long trip, every move with me.

Fashion is my one true love. And kittens.

I love Jack Daniels.

I own being “blonde” and am perfectly okay with being laughed at.

I absolutely love to cook – being in the kitchen and experimenting with ingredients is relaxing to me.

I don’t like sports. I will sit and pretend to enjoy them if there is beer involved but aside from that – I just don’t care.

I love shoes – but I’d rather be barefoot.

I’ll never read a book twice – my attention span isn’t that long.

And on that note… it’s time to shut this baby down and do some reading – I can only watch the Kardashians re-runs to many times. What are somethings you know about me that I didn’t list?? What should I know about you???

Happy Hump day, chickies!

Rules of life. {Just one}

I hate when I turn the TV on and there is absolutely nothing on. Nothing. Not. A. Thing. So… Teen Mom it is. Seriously, I can’t believe this show is still on? Haven’t we seen this drama enough??? Just a few words to the ladies {and MTV}… Dear Farrah, smile. It’ll get you much further in life than those ugly scowls and shitty mood you’re always in. Dear Maci, you’re my favorite, but seriously… a “family” photo shoot… with your ex and his gf? Uh… weird. And girl, there’s such a thing as powder or those oil blotter things – it’ll soak that oil right off your face. Dear Catelynn, Kudos to you – you’ve grown up a lot since I started watching this show and dealt with things very gracefully. I can’t imagine. Dear Amber, I haven’t been paying any attention – so I really got nothing. And lastly – Dear MTV, I’m not gonna lie and I’m not ashamed to admit I really kinda enjoy Snooki & JWoww {Don’t act like you haven’t watched it – I won’t judge;)}. They’re pretty stinkin’ funny. But The Real World? I really used to love this show, and wanted to be on it but now… it just makes me feel so old. And I really, really, really don’t like that. #justmythoughts

Anyways, I’m fresh out of anything interesting to say {pretty obvious, huh}… it’s like my midweek slump. Do you have those days?

So I’ll stop rambling and leave you with this…

It’s the truth guys – never question Cinderella’s decisions but always, always, always question Snooki’s.

Happy hump day, chickies!

Monday Randoms. {Coconut oil. The Vow. Moscato.}

I made Strawberry Moscato Punch on Friday night – y’all – I think this is going to need to be a staple in my fridge from now on. At least for the summer. It was so easy.

1 large bottle of Moscato

1 can of strawberry/orange juice concentrate {or any juice concentrate of your liking}

8 oz. of Sprite {ish}

Mix it all in the pitcher and drink to your little alcoholic happy heart’s content. I think it’d be really good with fruit slices in it too – but I wasn’t trying to be fancy this weekend.

I also made a pasta bake – but obviously made the drink first. Priorities, people. ;)

Friday night, Missy and I decided to have a little DIY spa/girlie movie night. We put gobs of organic coconut oil in our hair and let it soak while we watched The Vow. {I’ll get to that in a minute} First of all – it smelled amazing, I love the smell of coconut. And once I washed it out my hair was so soft and manageable. I think I’m going to try to do this every couple of days. Being blonde kind of strips my hair of moisture and I can already feel such a difference just after one use. We also mashed up an avocado and slathered it on our faces and let it dry. My skin felt AMAZING once I washed it off. I had some very happy hair and skin this weekend.

The Vow – ohmigoodness… *sigh* that movie definitely pulled on my heartstrings. I can’t believe I waited so long to watch it! What was I thinking?! They cast that movie so, so well. I’m always for a sappy chic flick and this one completely fulfilled that. If you haven’t seen it – do it. :)

Last week I thought I wanted to try to persuade my 29 year old self into all of the sudden becoming a morning person. I set my alarm for 7am and hoped to get up and workout, get ready for my day, enjoy a nice breakfast and not be so rushed. Do you think that happened? Hell no. I can’t – apparently you can’t teach this old dog new tricks. I need to accept that and move on. It was a nice thought though… maybe one day. {Although, I’m not holding my breath ;) }

Now, my loves – I’m off to do some reading. I discovered the book Sisterhood Everlasting this weekend while at Barnes and Noble. I’ve been a huge fan of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants saga since it came out. {Years ago!} This last one has fast forwarded {is that a word? No? Oh well.} to when they’re turning 30 and how life has changed them and their friendship. You have no clue how crazy excited I was when I found this – AND then realized I still had $$ on my BN gift card… one. happy. girl.

And one last thought for your Monday…

Always remember… take a moment… and just enjoy life.

Happy Monday, lover butts. I hope it’s not rainy where you are {unless of course you are like me and enjoy the rain…}.

It’s the little things…

  • Like when Tric runs into the room and finds the bug that I, for the life of me, can not find. Seriously, how do animals do that? Thank goodness though, cause I wasn’t going to sleep a wink until this ugly bug was found. What? I’m a girl, I don’t like them. This is why we need animals, people… without them… we would be constantly wondering where those damn bugs were.
  • Discovering unknown gorgeous roads in your part of town. My friend, Ryan, and I have been going for daily 3-4 mile walks and have been trying to take different routes each day and upon doing this we found this beautiful winding, country-esque road in the middle of the city. It even smelled like home… little streams trickling down the sides of road, huge trees, and just very untouched. I’m kind of in love with it.
  • Knowing that some of my absolute favorite people are coming up to visit on Saturday evening… makes. my. week. I love when I get to see my family and when I know they miss me… it warms my heart. I’m such a sap girl.
  • Stumbling upon old photos. Sometimes it’s so sweet {and sad} to relive those moments. Most seem like a lifetime ago, most were, but they were still such wonderful moments.
  • Unexpected girls nights. Drinks and a movie with two of my bestest ladies… um, of course. And I can not wait to see The Lucky One… I’m a sucker for a good romance and my bestie in MN said it’s fantastic.
  • Good hair days… c’mon ladies… you know what I’m talking about. Today wasn’t necessarily one of them, but I was wishing for it. What is it about those days that just make us feel like we can take on the world??
  • Rainy nights. They are the best thing to fall asleep to. And a storm just adds to it. I think it’s peaceful and soothing… until it’s still raining in the morning… then, I just want to sleep in.
  • Wearing dresses. Like I need to explain that. ;)
  • A text from my Daddy saying he misses me. Best. Thing. Ever.

What’s making you smile this week?

Happy Tuesday, sweets. I’ll be sure to let y’all know how The Lucky One is :)

How I love thee… {via Instagram}

Confession: I’m addicted in love with Starbucks iced tea. So you can imagine my excitement when as I’m standing in line on Saturday getting ready to order the usual, I look down and see this box of goodness. Now, I can make the tea at home. My wallet thanks me… Starbucks however, may suffer.

It’s no secret that I’m a bit of a nail polish addict. I love the stuff. My nails are always painted. Always. And as of late I’ve been doing the one finger different thing… and when you ask why, I’ll say… “why not?” Sally’s has been having their Buy 2 Get 1 free sale and I did just that. They have a lot of colors that you can’t find elsewhere and the price is reasonable and the quality is great. I picked up this neon green shade not sure how I’d actually feel about it on my fingers. {Some shades are just more toes appropriate, ya know?} However, I LOVE THIS GREEN. It’s called In the Lime Light by China Glaze. It goes on really well and stays on.

I have never, ever, ever been a fan of face makeup. But, as I’m getting older wiser I’ve realized I should start wearing it. I saw an ad for this one {Garnier Skin Renew B.B. Cream} in a magazine and it seemed way more beneficial than just plain old foundation. So I bit the bullet and purchased it. {$11 at Target} and I haven’t looked back. I’ve been using it for about a month and I can see such a difference in my skin. It’s even, moisturized, clear, and just looks healthier – and I didn’t think my skin looked unhealthy before. I highly recommend it. It doesn’t feel like you have makeup on at all.

This dress. And thrifting this week. Amy found this dress when she was thrifting earlier this week and got it for me. It fits like a glove. I can’t wait to wear it. Yesterday, she and I popped into another thrift store {looking for baskets for photo shoots} when we realized the entire store was 50% off. You better believe we looked around for more than just baskets. And I scored… I purchased a pants, skirt, shorts, two jackets, and two tanks for $15. That’s impressive for me because I’m sooooo picky when I’m thrifting, I won’t just buy something because it has a good label.

Hot toddy. Holy crap… best cold medicine ever. Whiskey, hot tea, lemon, and honey. It seriously clears up your sinuses. Have a cold?… drink this. You won’t regret it.

What are you loving right now??

Do you follow me on Instagram? If not, do it now… {jacmaries}

Happy Thursday, kids!

Did you know… {ramblings}

Did you know…

I was sick all weekend? Nope? Well, now you do. {please feel sorry for me. ;) }

That you can have wine delivered right to your door? I kid you not, in Clintonville there’s this fabulous drive thru that will BRING you wine. I didn’t believe it either. But guys, this legit happened. I called and said… “I would like red Moscato.” Nice delivery man says “I’ll be there in 15.” 15 minutes later, nice delivery man knocks on my door with THREE different wines to choose from. Y’all… this might be my favorite part of city living. Now if only he could deliver some whiskey….

My birthday is in less than a month. Don’t fret, you still have plenty of time to buy me a present.

That I’m reading the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy… holy racy, kids. This is not for children. It’s dark, deep, and very very dirty.

I should be running right now. My running partner in crime hasn’t texted me and asked if I wanted to go yet… so lazy me has won… {doing a victory dance}

My dinner tonight consisted of cereal and coffee. And about 3 sips of wine… oddly. Don’t ask.

My mom calls me every.single.night. At the same time. And when she doesn’t… it throws my entire evening off. #bestmommaever

I’ve never seen Aristocats – but I claim to love Marie. Here’s why… she’s adorable. Do I need more reason? Ok, I love cats… and her name is Marie {um… jacMARIE}

I have some of the best, best, best friends in the entire world? Ok, I may or may not have mentioned that close to a hundred times throughout the course of this blog, but that’s just a testament to how much I adore these people. I’m blessed to have them.

Because I’m not running… I should be doing Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30… but alas, I’m not. I’m sitting here, on my bum, cuddled under a blanket and blogging.

Missy, Amy, and I are going to see Tyler Hilton in a couple weeks. So ok – it isn’t official yet but there was talks of it today. We are kinda One Tree Hill musician junkies. You may call it obsessed… we call it dedicated.

I absolutely love rainy days. Especially when it’s storming.

That I appreciate you reading my ramblings… most are pointless, some are serious, few are actually funny {I find them all funny – I’m weird.}. But nonetheless, I appreciate YOU.

Happy Monday evening, lovelies.
