{Semi} Wordless Wednesday {My Life}

1. Sangria for Missy’s birthday. 2. My favorite fruit combination. Anything that’s strawberry/banana is good in my book. Especially the fruits themselves! 3. After our Relive the Moment shoot {more on that later} Amy and I decided to splurge on ice cream for dinner. Such a good decision. I had Oreo Cream Filling… best. thing. ever. 4. Red bull = my life blood. {this is no joke}. 5. Zucchini casserole. Holy cheesy, zucchiniy deliciousness. I’ll post the recipe I concocted soon. 6. Our new tea cups {filled with sleepy time tea – such a good idea!}… doesn’t it remind you of Chip from Beauty and the Beast? No? I’m the only adult without a child who watches Disney? … cool.

Moving on…

1. I LOVEEEEE wearing shorts and cowboy boots {y’all probably gathered that from the title of my blog, huh? #captainobvious} – maybe one of my favorite combinations. I mean, I’d wear boots with just about anything.  2. Ever have a morning where washing your hair sounds like nothing but pure, time consuming torture? That was me. However, I did manage to throw on a cute vintage Amrie Boutique headband. ;) 3. Please tell me this is not the best picture of me ever… I’m oozing sexy with my hands full of ice cream. You know you love it… Thank you, Amy for capturing me in my true essence. #not ;)

1. Last night we had an impromptu girls night. {Seriously LOVE these two.} It was Missy’s birthday and Amy was sick – I kept telling her all day that she just needed some whiskey; it’ll cure what ails ya… at least that’s what my Grandpa used to say. 2. Gallery Hop at the studio Saturday night – it was the unveiling of the Faces of Autism project and it went fabulously. 3. Dinner at Bucca Di Beppo for Missy’s bday last night - DELICIOUS!

I’m linking up with Flip Flops & Pearls for {Semi} Wordless Wednesdays.

Happy Hump Day, pumpkins!

Semi Wordless Wednesday. {Instagram Style}

My old girl. She’s about 13 and turning very gray but can still melt her momma’s heart.

Taken this morning – Sans makeup {ok, ok, I have a little mascara on – but that’s it}

Mother’s day brunch – the best pancakes in the world, made by my Dad. Seriously, most delicious things EVER!!!

Jack and diet to kick off my birthday week.

BLONDE! Finally got my roots done – I try to wait as long as possible for my hair’s sake… and I can usually rock the roots for a lil while. LOVING the fresh new blonde.

Bub and I made Momma manicotti for Mother’s day… it was yum! I then was sent a recipe for homemade manicotti shells… can. not. wait. to. try. Thank you, Nikki.

My bed at home – I couldn’t resist a picture… first, because it’s rarely made – Emmy {my cat at home} prefers a messy bed so she’ll do it herself if she needs. Second, it looked so pretty and vintagy.

KITTENS! Two dark calico babies. I. AM. IN. LOVE.

Rainy day in the country.But seriously gorgeous day. #nofilter

Yes, another bed – my roomie got me this new Ralph Lauren bedding I’ve been lusting after, for my birthday. I slept in it last night… It was beyond cozy.

Mother’s Day flowers… and my favorite. Stargazer lilies. {I also learned that lilies are poisonous to kitties… oops. :/}

I thought I’d link up over at Flip Flops & Pearls for Semi Wordless Wednesday. I’ve taken a lot of pictures lately, huh? Oops… I seriously love instagram. It’s addicting.

Enjoy, kitties. And go check out the blogs linked up… or better yet, link up yourself!

Happy hump day!

p.s. my birthday is in 3 days. Who’s excited?! THIS GIRL!!!!

It’s the little things…

  • Like when Tric runs into the room and finds the bug that I, for the life of me, can not find. Seriously, how do animals do that? Thank goodness though, cause I wasn’t going to sleep a wink until this ugly bug was found. What? I’m a girl, I don’t like them. This is why we need animals, people… without them… we would be constantly wondering where those damn bugs were.
  • Discovering unknown gorgeous roads in your part of town. My friend, Ryan, and I have been going for daily 3-4 mile walks and have been trying to take different routes each day and upon doing this we found this beautiful winding, country-esque road in the middle of the city. It even smelled like home… little streams trickling down the sides of road, huge trees, and just very untouched. I’m kind of in love with it.
  • Knowing that some of my absolute favorite people are coming up to visit on Saturday evening… makes. my. week. I love when I get to see my family and when I know they miss me… it warms my heart. I’m such a sap girl.
  • Stumbling upon old photos. Sometimes it’s so sweet {and sad} to relive those moments. Most seem like a lifetime ago, most were, but they were still such wonderful moments.
  • Unexpected girls nights. Drinks and a movie with two of my bestest ladies… um, of course. And I can not wait to see The Lucky One… I’m a sucker for a good romance and my bestie in MN said it’s fantastic.
  • Good hair days… c’mon ladies… you know what I’m talking about. Today wasn’t necessarily one of them, but I was wishing for it. What is it about those days that just make us feel like we can take on the world??
  • Rainy nights. They are the best thing to fall asleep to. And a storm just adds to it. I think it’s peaceful and soothing… until it’s still raining in the morning… then, I just want to sleep in.
  • Wearing dresses. Like I need to explain that. ;)
  • A text from my Daddy saying he misses me. Best. Thing. Ever.

What’s making you smile this week?

Happy Tuesday, sweets. I’ll be sure to let y’all know how The Lucky One is :)

How I love thee… {via Instagram}

Confession: I’m addicted in love with Starbucks iced tea. So you can imagine my excitement when as I’m standing in line on Saturday getting ready to order the usual, I look down and see this box of goodness. Now, I can make the tea at home. My wallet thanks me… Starbucks however, may suffer.

It’s no secret that I’m a bit of a nail polish addict. I love the stuff. My nails are always painted. Always. And as of late I’ve been doing the one finger different thing… and when you ask why, I’ll say… “why not?” Sally’s has been having their Buy 2 Get 1 free sale and I did just that. They have a lot of colors that you can’t find elsewhere and the price is reasonable and the quality is great. I picked up this neon green shade not sure how I’d actually feel about it on my fingers. {Some shades are just more toes appropriate, ya know?} However, I LOVE THIS GREEN. It’s called In the Lime Light by China Glaze. It goes on really well and stays on.

I have never, ever, ever been a fan of face makeup. But, as I’m getting older wiser I’ve realized I should start wearing it. I saw an ad for this one {Garnier Skin Renew B.B. Cream} in a magazine and it seemed way more beneficial than just plain old foundation. So I bit the bullet and purchased it. {$11 at Target} and I haven’t looked back. I’ve been using it for about a month and I can see such a difference in my skin. It’s even, moisturized, clear, and just looks healthier – and I didn’t think my skin looked unhealthy before. I highly recommend it. It doesn’t feel like you have makeup on at all.

This dress. And thrifting this week. Amy found this dress when she was thrifting earlier this week and got it for me. It fits like a glove. I can’t wait to wear it. Yesterday, she and I popped into another thrift store {looking for baskets for photo shoots} when we realized the entire store was 50% off. You better believe we looked around for more than just baskets. And I scored… I purchased a pants, skirt, shorts, two jackets, and two tanks for $15. That’s impressive for me because I’m sooooo picky when I’m thrifting, I won’t just buy something because it has a good label.

Hot toddy. Holy crap… best cold medicine ever. Whiskey, hot tea, lemon, and honey. It seriously clears up your sinuses. Have a cold?… drink this. You won’t regret it.

What are you loving right now??

Do you follow me on Instagram? If not, do it now… {jacmaries}

Happy Thursday, kids!

Life. {Via Instagram}

Ohhh Instagram, how I love thee. I wish I had taken more pictures this weekend… but, I didn’t. How cute is Swag? He’s my bro and Hollie’s pup and he’s a giant! But sooo lovable. And I did some drinkin’ this weekend… Jack, tea, coffee… {Jack failed at making me feel better.} And those boys… two of my bestest guys {the blonde’s my bro – the birthday boy}.

I woke up Saturday morning feeling so yucky. Sore throat, stuffy nose, coughing… the works. And that wasn’t boding well for me because I had a busy day – work and my brothers birthday celebration. So I made myself some tea and ignored the sickness that was setting in. It was such a rainy, rainy day for a scavenger hunt – but it was a lot of fun despite the rain and being sick. We had to do everything from get a random person’s number {which I did, then got asked out on a date – by a 20 year old – I’m almost 29, guys. Needless to say we had a good laugh} we had to do a shot with a random person {that turned out comical – Amy ended up doing a shot with a friend of mine from HS – so we cheated a bit, whatevs} we had to skinny dip in Lake Logan {we didn’t do that one – ran out of time} and visit a legendary “haunted” rock in our area… among LOTS of other things.

Sunday I had a lazy day around the house, sat on the porch and soaked up the beautiful day. I wish I hadn’t felt so sick, I’d have loved to go for a hike. Oh well.

{I realize it’s halfway thru the week and I’m posting about the past weekend – it’s my blog, I do what I want. ;) }

Happy hump day, dolls!
